GESREADER II

Features:

- small size hand held reader
- reads ISO compatible RF-ID transponders for animal identification
- a memory capacity to store approx. 1450 readings
- a RS232 port/connection for communication with the PC
- the possibility to make your own list of observation codes and record an observation with a transponder reading
- the possibility to make and show your own alpha nummeric equivalent transponder code
- possibility to connect a stick antenna .

Memory

Apart from reading a transponder code which can be seen in the LCD display of the GesReader II,
the transponder code can also be stored in the internal memory of the reader. This memory can simply
be downloaded to the PC as an ASCII file.

A read-out on the PC of the transponder codes from the memory is as follows:

A 000 00000 0 0983 000000056824
A 000 00000 0 0983 000000056820
A 000 00000 0 0983 000000056822
A 000 00000 0 0983 000000056821 (bold =)ISO transponder code (16 digits)

Observation codes

Sometimes it is necessarry to record specific observations of each individual animal during the study.
The GesReader II makes it possible to record an observation code to the transponder reading of an
individual animal.

After reading the transponder code of an animal, the required observation can be selected from the
pre-arranged downloaded list of the 10 most important observations for that particular study.

Transponder code + observation code will be stored in a memory.

For a next study, a new list of 10 observations can be made in the PC and downloaded to the reader.

Equivalent codes

The ISO transponder code is a 16 digit code (including the first "0"). These 16 digits codes are
very long and not always easy to work with.
The GesReader II has the possibility to prepare your own selected equivalent alpha-nummeric
code and have it fixed to the transponder code.
When reading a transponder, both the 16 digit transponder code, as well as the own selected
alpha-nummeric equivalent code are displayed
on the LCD of the GesReader II.
