The UNO Micro Ventilator is a mechanical ventilator uniquely designed for use with mice and rats
for respiratoric support or totally controlled inhalation anaesthetic.
This revolutionary new concept of mechanical ventilation has a proven performance even with mice of ≥ 15 gr. bodyweight.
The ventilation pattern of the UMV is based on the natural, spontenaous respiratory pattern of rat and mouse,
i.e. a SINUS-form without a plateau pressure.
The UMV is a pressure-, volume- and frequency cycled ventilator which can very easily be integrated in a flowmeter / vaporizer set-up.
- Characteristics:
Tidal Volume setting at the ventilator (without counter pressure) 0,1 ml - 24 ml
Effective volume (with counter pressure & endotracheal tube 0,0 ml - 12 ml1 Frequency (respiratory rate) 15 - 220 / min Minimum and Maximum pressure setting ≥ 0 mbar - up Pressure settings External P.E.E.P possible Inspiratory to expiratory ratio 1 : 1 (Sinus form) Circle system with CO2 Absorber To be easily connected to a flowmeter / vaporizer unit Distance between UMV and animal position upto 1 meter2 - 1. Depending on the size of endotracheal tube used.
- 2. If distance is more than 1 meter the local situation has te obe checked and an extra valve could be necessary.
- The ventilation pattern of the UMV is based on the natural, spontaneous
- respiratory pattern of rat and mouse, i.e. a SINUS-form without a plateau pressure.

- Sinus ventilation pattern with PEEP,
- increased volume and increased pressure.
- a : volume
- b2 : increased mean pressure++
- b-max2 : increased maximum pressure++
- c : respiration / ventilation cycle
- x : PEEP
- Sinus ventilation pattern without PEEP,
- with increased respiratory rate.
- a : volume
- b : mainpressure
- b-max : maximum pressure
- c1 : respiration / ventilation cycle+
